WEC - Jenson Button completes the #38 Team Jota Porsche 963 trio
Although Sebastian Vettel has finally declined, there will indeed be a F1 World Champion at Team Jota next year. And as expected, it will be Jenson Button! The Briton, who contested the 2023 Petit Le Mans in the JDC-Miller MotorSports Porsche 963 and is preparing to take part in the 24 Hours of Daytona in the #40 WTR with Andretti Acura ARX-06, is set to contest his first full season in the WEC in 2024.
Indeed, Team Jota confirmed today that Jenson Button will be the third man in the N°38 Porsche 963, in which Dane Oliver Rasmussen and Briton Phil Hanson have already been confirmed.

Button in the WEC is not a first. The 2009 F1 World Champion has already taken part in four rounds during the 2018-2019 season at the wheel of a BR1-BR Engineering car entered by SMP Racing and shared with Mikhail Aleshin and Vitaly Petrov. Last June, he also took part in his second 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Chevrolet Nascar ZL1 Innovative Car.

Admittedly, the 2018 Super GT champion won't be part of a long-awaited trio of galactics that could have seen him share the wheel with Sebastian Vettel and Robert Kubica, but let's not deny ourselves the pleasure. His presence will undeniably be a plus for the World Endurance Championship next year and for Team Jota.
