Henri Pescarolo, who missed the centenary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, is sure to be one of the stars of this weekend's Le Mans Classic. Indeed, the four-time winner of the French race will be present... and not just to shake hands, which is not the house style.   With an eleventh place finish in the last Tour de France Auto in an AC Cobra which is pretty difficult to drive, the legend with the green helmet will first of all take the wheel of one of the Matras with which he won one of his four victories  during the Centenary Parade. But Henri is also on the Endurance Racing Legends entry list at the wheel of a Pescarolo C60-Judd LMP1!

"I found out about this when I discovered the entry list for the Endurance Racing Legends races on the internet," Henri told us with amusement. "I was surprised, so I called Manu (Collard), who confirmed the news. It's funny because I never used to drive my cars except for straight-line tests at Châteauroux airport. The only time I've driven a Pescarolo (the 2007 01) on a real track was with Jacques Nicolet during a free run organised during the 2018 edition of Le Mans Classic ⬇️."

Henri is not expected to take part in the races, but will be able to enjoy driving one of his protos during Friday's practice sessions, alongside the Pescarolo Sport team's most emblematic driver : Emmanuel Collard. "It's really great," says Collard. "Pescarolo is a great chapter in my career. So there's no doubt that getting back behind the wheel of the C60 on the big Le Mans track will be special. And seeing Henri at the wheel in the year of the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is a nice touch."

Manu will be back at the wheel of a car in which he took pole position in 2005. The Frenchman will most likely be the favourite in the two races on the Endurance Racing Legends menu, scheduled for Saturday from 9.30am to 10.15am and Sunday from 3.20pm to 4pm.
