4 Jul. 2022 ‧ 8:15
The first Japanese driver to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans had an unforgettable weekend in Le Mans.
Masanori Sekiya has Le Mans in his blood. In 1995, he became the first Japanese to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was in the #59 Kokusai Kaihatsu Racing McLaren F1 GTR shared with JJ Lehto and Yannick Dalmas. "I was over the moon," he recalls. "But I also remember that it rained a lot, and the race was quite scary. But we manage not to break the car and finally we pull off the victory."
