Ferrari has officially launched the 2026 season, which will see the Prancing Horse return to the FIA World Endurance Championship to defend the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ world titles secured in an unforgettable and already historic 2025 campaign. The Maranello manufacturer presented the updated livery of the 499P fielded by the official Ferrari – AF Corse team at an event held today, Wednesday 25 February, at the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena. A presentation event open to the public and tifosi welcomed Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Enrico Galliera, Chief Product Development Officer Gianmaria Fulgenzi, together with Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Endurance and Corse Clienti, Ferdinando Cannizzo, Head of Endurance Race Cars; and the official drivers set to race the number 50 and number 51 499P cars.

The livery. The FIA World Championship laurels adorning the livery are evocative symbols and an added source of motivation for the team as it strives for peak performance.

The laurels are clearly visible beneath the Shield bearing the Prancing Horse on the front fender of both Sports Prototypes entrusted to crews retained for a fourth consecutive year. The number 50 499P will return to action with Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, while the number 51 will be driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi. Having secured the 2025 Drivers’ title, the number 51 crew will race a car embellished with the FIA laurels awarded to the drivers, displayed on the door fins.

The 2026 look. The 499P livery evolves while remaining true to its heritage, continuing to pay tribute to the 312 P that dominated endurance racing until 1973, the final year Ferrari competed for overall honours before its historic return in 2023.

The 499P’s design, created by the Centro Stile Ferrari, features a predominant Rosso Scuderia finish, presented this year in a new gloss version rather than matte. The colour and finish are identical to those of the Scuderia Ferrari HP SF-26 Formula 1 World Championship single-seater.

The unmistakable red, a symbol of the racing heritage of the company founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1947, is paired once more with Giallo Modena, the shade that defines the bodywork lines and, for 2026, places particular emphasis on the cockpit volumes.

Styling. Compared with earlier versions, the 2026-specification 499P stands out for the orientation of the yellow diagonal lines forming an arrow, a design cue iconic since the car’s debut in 2023. For 2026, the arrow is reversed, with its tip pointing towards the rear wing rather than the direction of travel. A choice by the Centro Stile Ferrari that further emphasises the cockpit’s central role: both as a structural element at the heart of the car and as a highly symbolic feature of the design.

Technical details. The 2026 car introduces no major technical changes, and the only Joker used since its racing debut remains the one introduced for the São Paulo round in July 2024. Over the winter break, however, Ferrari worked relentlessly on research, data analysis and simulator-to-track correlation to further refine both the car’s behaviour and team operations.

Powertrain. The 499P is equipped with a hybrid powertrain combining a twin-turbo V6 internal combustion engine in a mid-rear layout with an electric unit, the ERS (Energy Recovery System), mounted on the front axle. Although featuring bespoke characteristics, the internal combustion engine is derived from the Maranello six-cylinder family used in road cars, underscoring the transfer of technology between racing and production models.

Objectives. After returning the Manufacturers’ World Endurance Championship title to Maranello in 2025, ending a 53-year wait, and securing the first Drivers’ world title in the top class of endurance racing, the Ferrari – AF Corse team heads into the new season determined to be competitive at every round and confirm its leadership of the FIA WEC, fully aware that the competition will be fiercer than ever.
