Absolute Racing, one of Asia’s most prominent Porsche teams, has confirmed its return to the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia grid for the 2026 season with a two-car entry, marking a renewed commitment to the region’s premier one-make championship.

The team is no stranger to success in the series, having previously secured four overall drivers’ titles, more than 40 race victories, as well as two Class B crowns and Dealer Trophy honours. Its return coincides with the introduction of Porsche’s latest generation Cup machinery and a refreshed championship calendar.

Frenchman Marvin Klein will spearhead the programme. 26-year old Klein has built a strong reputation within Porsche’s global customer racing ladder, most notably claiming back-to-back titles in Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2021 and 2022.

After beginning his career in French Formula 4, Klein transitioned into GT and endurance competition, quickly attracting attention within Porsche’s customer racing ecosystem. His résumé includes campaigns in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Carrera Cup Germany, alongside various endurance events, where he has amassed multiple race wins and podium finishes.

Details of the second driver will be shared soon.

The 2026 season will also see the competitive debut of Porsche’s latest Cup car, based on the 992.2-generation 911 and now officially named the 911 Cup. The model delivers 520 PS from a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine, 10 PS more than its predecessor, while technical developments include aerodynamic refinements, increased brake cooling capacity, enhanced electronics with standard Bosch M5 ABS, and usability improvements such as automatic engine restart or tighter steering lock. Klein will have the first contact with the car during the official test at the Zhuhai International Circuit on 28 February and 1 March.

The 2026 championship calendar marks the return of Zhuhai, one of Absolute Racing’s home circuits, occupying the second slot after the season opener in Shanghai, held on the support bill of the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix.

Japan’s round moves from Twin Ring Motegi to Fuji Speedway for the first time since 2019, while the remainder of the schedule features the Thailand’s Bangsaen Street Circuit, Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit and the Singapore Formula 1 support event at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Fabien Fior, Team Principal of Absolute Racing, said: “We are delighted to be back in Carrera Cup Asia. Our relationship with Porsche dates from day one of Absolute Racing, and this is the perfect timing to return with the introduction of the new Cup car. We are coming back with the same aim and motivation to win, and we hope the talents of Marvin Klein will help us to achieve it.”
