Rutronik Racing continues Porsche programme with Antares Au
Rutronik Racing will be pursuing a two-pronged approach in the 2026 season of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup. In addition to its Lamborghini commitment in the Pro class, the Remchingen-based team will continue to field a Porsche 911 GT3 R. The car will compete in the highly competitive Bronze Cup.
The driver line-up will be led by experienced gentleman driver Antares Au, who is going into his second year with Rutronik Racing. The 46-year-old from Hong Kong will be joined by a promising line-up of drivers, including reigning FIA WEC LMGT3 class world champion Riccardo Pera and Porsche contracted driver Sven Müller, who won the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup title with Rutronik Racing last year.
Au is entering his second season with Rutronik Racing in the popular SRO series. Last year, he finished second in the Bronze Cup class of the Endurance Cup. He secured class victories at Monza and the season finale in Barcelona. Now he is aiming for the title in the category. Antares Au is considered one of the fastest Bronze drivers and won the title in the Independent Cup of the Intercontinental GT Challenge in 2024 and became champion in the GT class of the Asian Le Mans Series in the 2024/2025 season.
At his side will be Sven Müller, a fixture in the Rutronik Racing line-up. The Porsche contracted driver is entering his third season with the team. In 2025, he won the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup title with the team in a dramatic season finale. The 2016 Porsche Supercup champion is considered one of the most experienced and busiest drivers in the Porsche line-up.
Riccardo Pera completes the line-up. The 26-year-old Italian will be competing in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for the first time this season. Pera was last year's champion in the LMGT3 class of the FIA WEC and has also impressed with his speed in the Porsche 911 GT3 R in the Asian Le Mans Series in recent weeks. In 2025, he also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGT3 class.
‘I am excited to return to Rutronik Racing for a second year at this competitive series. Together we achieved two victories and a vice-championship on debut in 2025. I don’t take any of this lightly, and hope we can build on the positives, evolve and achieve greater results together this season!,’ said Antares Au, full of anticipation.
Rutronik Racing team boss Klaus Graf: "I am delighted that Antares Au has once again placed his trust in Rutronik Racing and that we will be competing together again this year in the highly competitive Bronze Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. We narrowly missed out on the title last year and would like to build on last year's successes this year. Continuing the project means that we will be competing with two different manufacturers this year. At this point, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Porsche and Lamborghini for their cooperative collaboration, which makes this possible within the Rutronik Racing team. The continuation of our collaboration with Sven Müller, who has enjoyed great success with Rutronik Racing over the past two years, will certainly be a great added value. I am particularly pleased that he will be supporting Antares in the races this year!"
The GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup will be held over five race weekends this year. After the season opener in Le Castellet, the action moves to the high-speed Italian circuit of Monza. The highlight of the season will take place at the end of June with the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa – the world's largest GT race. Races at the Nürburgring and in Portimão round off the season.
