TGI Team by GRT lines up with the new Lamborghini and a former champion
New car, new line-up, and two old acquaintances: TGI Team by GRT will run two new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 in the 2026 DTM. At the wheel of the 585-hp Italian GT sports cars will be Mirko Bortolotti (I), 2024 DTM champion, and Dresden's Maximilian Paul. The Austrian team kicks off the new DTM season with a home outing at the Red Bull Ring from 24th to 26th April.
Bortolotti and TGI Team by GRT have a long history together. The Italian Lamborghini works driver started for Gottfried Grasser's team between 2015 and 2022. After success in the ADAC GT Masters, their most recent season together saw them challenge for the title in their first year in the DTM. Bortolotti then went on to win the DTM with a different team in 2024. "I am delighted to be back at GRT and to be facing the challenge of the Temerario GT3 with this team," says the 36-year-old. "In the past, we have enjoyed countless international successes together, as well as achieving the team's best result to date in the DTM. We are now looking to follow on where we left off, but are also aware that the priorities with the new car will initially lie elsewhere."
Team-mate Paul, recently promoted to the squad of Lamborghini works drivers, has also driven for the team from the Styria region of Austria in the past: the Saxon racer took victory at the first attempt on his first DTM race weekend at the Nürburgring in 2023. "I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to race in the DTM with GRT," says the 25-year-old. "It is very special to be back driving a GRT Lamborghini. Back in 2023, we celebrated our first DTM victory together. Since then, we have always had a close relationship."
Gottfried Grasser, team principal at GRT: "After more than a decade with the Lamborghini Huracán GT3, we are now looking forward to the Temerario GT3. With our line-up, we feel perfectly ready for the year of learning we have ahead of us. Mirko is an integral part of the success story of Lamborghini and GRT. We challenged for the title at the first attempt back in 2022, and are ready to settle that score. As the first DTM winner for our team, Max is also an important part of that history. He and Mirko form a strong team. We are confident we can achieve good results from the outset."
