Vincenzo Sospiri’s over-a-decade long collaboration with Lamborghini Squadra Corse continues in 2026 with the Forli based team set to receive a new Temerario GT3 from Sant’Agata in time for the opening round of the GT World Challenge Sprint.

At the wheel of the Gold Cup car will be Italian drivers Loris Spinelli and Mattia Michelotto. Both drivers spent their formative years in Lamborghini Super Trofeo before moving onto race GT3 machinery, proving once again the validity of the Lamborghini motorsport ladder.  The all-Italian entry will carry race number 163 and will be out on track for the first time at the Paul Ricard Prologue in early April.

Vincenzo Sospiri: « Myself and the whole VSR crew are extremely proud to continue our relationship with Lamborghini by being one of the first teams to race the new Temerario. It will be a steep learning curve for everyone involved but we have two very competitive drivers and the invaluable support of Lamborghini Squadra Corse alongside us for this new adventure. »

Loris Spinelli: « The GTWC is the championship I’ve always been aiming for and, being able to compete with VSR and the new Temerario makes the opportunity even more exciting. Mattia is a very fast driver; we’ve known each other for quite some time and I believe we can achieve strong results together. From a technical standpoint, it will be crucial to find the right direction with the new car from the very beginning, focusing on understanding its characteristics and optimizing the setup. Starting the season with a solid baseline will be key to arriving fully prepared for the first round. »

Mattia Michelotto: « I’m really looking forward to this year and my first full GT World Challenge campaign. I can't wait to get to started! There is a lot of work to do with the new car but I know that Loris, myself, Lamborghini and VSR will give it all we can and do our very best to bring home some excellent results. »
