Lamborghini Squadra Corse is pleased to announce the arrival of Patric Niederhauser to its line-up of official factory drivers from next season. The experienced Swiss driver will compete aboard the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3, with his full sporting programme to be unveiled in due course.

The 34-year-old returns to the Sant’Agata Bolognese firm after previously being part of the Lamborghini GT3 Junior Driver programme. A former Lamborghini Super Trofeo competitor and World Finals race winner, Niederhauser recently claimed the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Pro title with new-for-2026

Lamborghini partner, Rutronik Racing.

Niederhauser joins the official factory driver roster at Lamborghini as the reigning GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup champion, sealed by one point in a dramatic final round of the season in Barcelona in October. A race winner in the series across multiple brands, Niederhauser has established himself as one of the world’s leading GT3 drivers and brings an enviable degree of expertise and performance to the wider Squadra Corse fold.

Having initially raced on the Formula One career ladder, competing in the GP3 Series across three seasons and winning four races, Niederhauser made the switch to GT racing the following year with a campaign in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. At the end of his debut season with Lamborghini, he then claimed a

breakthrough maiden race victory in the season-ending World Finals at Sebring.

He then joined the roster of GT3 Juniors in 2016, before cementing his status as one of the world’s most prolific sportscar drivers in 2019 when he won the ADAC GT Masters title. Niederhauser then concluded the season by representing his country at the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO. Since then, Niederhauser has won the 2021 Indianapolis 8 Hours Hours in the Pro category.

With this announcement, Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s factory driver line-up for the 2026 season has been bolstered to blend an eclectic mix of youth and experience. Niederhauser joins long-term official drivers Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli, Franck Perera, Marco Mapelli, Christian Engelhart and Sandy Mitchell, as well as more recent arrivals, Loris Spinelli, Edoardo Mortara, Luca Engstler and Daniil Kvyat.

Ahead of his race debut with Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Niederhauser will also have the opportunity to test the Temerario GT3, which will make his competition debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2026, while its European bow will take place at Paul Ricard, the opening round of the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup season.

Patric Niederhauser, new Lamborghini Factory Driver: "After my first steps in GT racing where I raced in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, I got the chance to make my GT3 debut as a Lamborghini Junior Driver the year after which was exactly ten years ago. Since then, I raced for different brands throughout my career but now, this feels like a homecoming. I’m utterly proud to represent such an amazing brand and I am very much looking forward to a bright future. To be racing for Automobili Lamborghini as an official factor driver is a dream come true.”

Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer, Automobili Lamborghini: “We are delighted to welcome Patric to the Lamborghini Squadra Corse family and we are looking forward to working together. It is a full circle moment for Patric in a way as he started his GT journey with us racing in our one-make Super Trofeo championship back in 2015. His record in the years since then have confirmed his ability and talent and the fact that we will have two of the defending Spa 24 Hours winners and the reigning GTWC Endurance Cup champion among our factory driver roster stands as testament to the quality we have heading into the new season.”
