For the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season, Akkodis ASP Team continues to strengthen its LMGT3 programme by confirming two experienced and competitive Bronze drivers.

On the Lexus RC F LMGT3 #87 – Petru Umbrarescu
• Petru Răzvan UMBRARESCU (ROU), born on 30 June 1993 in Bacău (Romania)
Petru Umbrarescu will continue with Akkodis ASP Team in 2026 as the Bronze-rated driver of the #87 Lexus RC F LMGT3, extending a collaboration that has quickly proven to be both effective and successful.
After joining the team’s LMGT3 programme, the Romanian driver made an immediate impact in the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship, securing two victories, including a maiden win at the 6 Hours of São Paulo, followed by a second triumph at the 8 Hours of Bahrain.
Consistent, composed and highly adaptable, Umbrarescu played a key role alongside José María López and Clemens Schmid in delivering a third-place finish in the LMGT3 Drivers’ World Championship. He notably became the first Romanian driver to win a race in FIA WEC, underlining his rapid rise on the world endurance stage.
On the Lexus RC F LMGT3 #78 – Tom Van Rompuy
• Tom VAN ROMPUY (BEL), born on 21 June 1988 in Antwerp (Belgium)
Tom Van Rompuy will join Akkodis ASP Team for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season as the Bronze driver of the #78 Lexus RC F LMGT3. A seasoned endurance racer, the Belgian driver brings extensive experience across GT and prototype racing, including campaigns in GT World Challenge Europe, the European Le Mans Series, and the Asian Le Mans Series.
Van Rompuy has already proven his credentials at world level, competing in LMGT3 in FIA WEC and scoring the first-ever LMGT3 pole position in the championship at the Qatar season opener. His background also includes a podium finish in the LMP2 Pro-Am class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and multiple strong results in endurance competition. His arrival strengthens the #78 crew with proven race intelligence, consistency and endurance experience — key assets for the challenges of a full FIA WEC season.
The complete line-ups for both cars will be announced shortly. The confirmation of Petru Umbrarescu and Tom Van Rompuy as Bronze drivers underlines Akkodis ASP Team’s commitment to continuity, performance and competitive balance as it prepares for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship.
