SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm is changing its planned racing programme for the 2026 season. After Thomas Angerer's racing team had once again planned to compete in the ADAC GT Masters and ADAC GT4 Germany, the team's national racing programme is now being discontinued. This year, the racing team won three titles in the ADAC GT4 Germany, including the overall championship. Previously, the racing team won in both the GT3 and GT4 classes in the GTC Race.

For 2026, the team now plans to enter the popular GT series of the SRO, the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS and the GT4 European Series powered by RAFA Racing Club.

Team boss Thomas Angerer:

"Unfortunately, despite all our successes and titles in Germany in recent years, we have not been able to make the leap into professional motorsport. Even Enrico Förderer, despite maximum sporting success and great financial support, has not managed to join Motorsport Team Germany. This means that the “Road to DTM” concept is not working for us. When drivers between the ages of 16 and 18 finish all championships with titles and victories and still fail to make the step up despite maximum discipline and enormous personal commitment, our only option is to try our luck on the international stage.

I hope and wish that one of our young drivers will make the leap into a professional league, and I will do everything I can to pave the way for these young wild ones. If there are any supporters for young German talent in the international arena, they are welcome to contact me.

We are now going to break new ground!"

The team will announce further details of SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm's racing programme in the prestigious SRO GT series in the coming weeks. The GT World Challenge Europe is considered the largest and most important GT racing series, boasting a high-quality and large field of participants. This year, 75 cars took part in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, the world's largest GT3 race. In the GT4 European Series, an average of over 40 cars from up to ten manufacturers competed.
