After a three-year absence from the 24h at Daytona, Mühlner Motorsport will return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship stage in January, entering a factory-fresh Porsche 911 GT3 R built to the latest 2026 specification for the Rolex 24. The Belgian endurance outfit will field the No. 123 Porsche in the GTD class at the season-opening 24-hour classic, held at Daytona International Speedway on 24–25 January 2026.

Mühlner Motorsport has been a familiar presence in the IMSA paddock for more than a decade and brings deep endurance pedigree to the program. The team has contested more than 50 major 24-hour races worldwide and operates with a strong U.S. footprint from its long-standing base in DeLand, Florida—minutes from Daytona International Speedway.

The squad’s last Rolex 24 appearance came in 2022, when it ran two Duqueine D08 LMP3 prototypes and secured a runner-up finish in class, underlining its ability to fight at the front on America’s biggest endurance stage.

First outing for the updated Porsche 911 GT3 R (2026-spec)

The No. 123 entry will debut Porsche Motorsport’s optimized 911 GT3 R for the 2026 season. The latest evolution of Porsche’s customer-racing GT3 platform features detailed aerodynamic refinements—most visibly the new louvre “ventiduct” front-arch system—plus suspension and drivability updates aimed at improving balance and tire performance over long stints. Power comes from Porsche’s proven 4.2-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, producing around 565 hp in race trim, paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox.

By stepping back into GT competition with the newest GT3 R, Mühlner Motorsport reinforces its long-term commitment to Porsche customer racing on both sides of the Atlantic.

Driver lineup — No. 123 Porsche 911 GT3 R

Mühlner Motorsport will contest the Rolex 24 with a four-driver roster mixing endurance experience and rising talent:

David Musial Senior, David Musial Junior, Peter Ludwig and Ryan Yardley.

Team founder and CEO Bernie Mühlner is looking forward to the challenge. "We have been preparing this project for several years and we’re incredibly proud to finally go racing with this car and such a strong driver combination. Returning to Daytona in GTD is a big moment for us.”

2026 endurance focus: Daytona, Nürburgring, Spa — and more to come

Following the Rolex 24, the new Porsche GT3 R will be shipped to Europe for two further 24-hour highlights on Mühlner Motorsport’s 2026 calendar. The program includes the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring (14–17 May 2026) and the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa (24–28 June 2026), with potential additional GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup appearances under evaluation.

Parallel to the Daytona effort, Mühlner Motorsport will open its 2026 campaign in the Creventic Middle East Trophy with Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) entries at the Michelin 6H Abu Dhabi (9–10 January 2026) and the Michelin 24H Dubai (16–17 January 2026)—a demanding logistics puzzle given the partial overlap with IMSA’s “Roar Before the 24” and Rolex 24 preparations.

Bernie Mühlner added : "First we focus on the next races. Having our 992 cars in Abu Dhabi and Dubai while we’re also heading to Daytona is a huge challenge for the whole team. Luckily, we’ve built a broad infrastructure over the years that allows us to handle programs like this successfully.”

Looking beyond the confirmed endurance targets, the team is working on additional projects for 2026 and beyond.

« We’re in close talks with several organizations and partners, and we’re planning a few surprises. It’s very likely that we’ll return to a European paddock that has been close to our hearts in recent years—with a fantastic project.”

Further details on Mühlner Motorsport’s expanded 2026 racing portfolio will be announced in due course.
