Rutronik Racing enters into partnership with Lamborghini
The team led by team boss Klaus Graf will thus be among the first to field the new racing car in international motorsport. The drivers who will be behind the wheel will be announced at a later date. However, it is already certain that it will be a pure Lamborghini factory driver line-up. Nothing will be left to chance in order to share in the success of the new Temerario GT3 right from the start.
Lamborghini provided a first taste of what is to come in the summer of 2025. The Sant'Agata Bolognese-based brand unveiled the model to the public at the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed. The super sports car impresses with a 4-litre V8 biturbo engine and around 550 hp, as well as a host of other technical refinements.
From 11 to 12 April, it will make its debut in the GT World Challenge Europe, in which Rutronik Racing celebrated the Endurance Cup title in 2025. Rutronik Racing missed out on overall victory in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, the world's largest GT3 race, by just a few seconds in June 2025, finishing the race in second place. The racing team distinguished itself this season with great consistency, achieving podium results in nine out of ten race weekends. With the Bronze Cup car, the team also secured two further class victories in the Endurance Cup, finishing the season in second place in the championship. In 2019, its first full season in professional GT racing, the team won the ADAC GT Masters championship in its debut season.
Rutronik Racing will announce further details of the strategic partnership with Lamborghini at a later date.
Klaus Graf, Team Principal Rutronik Racing: "We are very excited and looking forward to entering into a new strategic partnership with Lamborghini in 2026. For Rutronik Racing, this is another milestone in the team's development. We are very proud of what we have achieved in recent years, which we were able to confirm with the title in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Now it's time to look ahead and take the next step. We are convinced that we can achieve our medium and long-term goals with a partner like Lamborghini. We are very much looking forward to competing with the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 in 2026 and beyond. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lamborghini for their trust in Rutronik Racing!"
Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer stated: “The 2026 season marks the racing debut of the Temerario GT3 in a prestigious championship such as the GT World Challenge Europe. It is a series in which successive generations of the Huracán have been title contenders since 2015, and where Lamborghini has secured numerous titles across all categories, culminating in the recent victory at the 24 Hours of Spa. For these reasons, we will even strengthen our competitiveness with a highly experienced and professional team such as Rutronik Racing. I am confident that together we will achieve new successes and tackle every challenge with determination.”
