Mercedes-AMG Motorsport continued its winning streak in the GT World Challenge, securing the intercontinental manufacturers' championship for the seventh time in a row. At the season finale of the GT World Challenge Australia at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park last weekend, the Mercedes-AMG teams collected the final points required to bring the prestigious trophy back to Affalterbach once again. With this successful title defence, Mercedes-AMG remains unbeaten in the classification introduced in 2019.

Mercedes-AMG defends manufacturers' title and wins first Customer Performance Award

All race results from the four continental series were included in the overall championship: GT World Challenge America, Asia, Australia and Europe. The two highest-placed cars of each brand were eligible for points. Mercedes-AMG was the only manufacturer of the ten entrants to score points in all 53 sprint and endurance races in 2025, finishing the season as title holders with 23 championship points ahead. In addition, the AMG Customer Racing Teams won the Customer Performance Award, which was presented for the first time. This new classification recognises a manufacturer's overall performance by calculating the individual class results of each race against the number of vehicles entered. With consistently strong performances on all continents and in all classes, the Customer Racing Teams made a valuable contribution to achieving the top position in the final classification.

Customer Racing Teams with impressive records and two championships

A total of 24 Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Teams competed in the four continental series this season. Together, they achieved eight overall victories and 22 class victories, secured 22 overall podium finishes and started from pole position 16 times. In addition to the intercontinental manufacturers' title, Mercedes-AMG celebrated two further championships in the GT World Challenge Europe. Boutsen VDS secured the team and drivers' titles in the Silver Cup with César Gazeau and Aurélien Panis (both FRA). Lucas Auer (AUT) and Maro Engel (GER) from Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER claimed two overall victories: they won the sprint race at Brands Hatch and, together with Matteo Cairoli (ITA), took first place in the Endurance Cup event at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

The Mercedes-AMG teams scored five of the eight overall victories in the GT World Challenge America. Mikaël Grenier (CAN), Michai Stephens (USA) and JMF Motorsports secured three wins. With victories at Sonoma Raceway, Road America and Barber Motorsports Park, they won the runner-up championships in the team and driver standings of the GT World Challenge America. Jeff Burton (USA), Philip Ellis (SUI) and Regulator Racing further triumphed at the Circuit of The Americas and Road America.

In the twelve races of the GT World Challenge Asia, Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Teams achieved five podium finishes and eight class victories. In the GT World Challenge Australia, Paul Lucchitti and Jayden Ojeda (both AUS) from Tigani Motorsport secured overall victory at The Bend Motorsport Park. Following this year's finale, the coming season will also begin ‘Down Under’: the first manufacturer points for the 2026 GT World Challenge will be awarded at the legendary Bathurst 12 Hour (13th to 15th February). The traditional race at the Mount Panorama Circuit retains its special status as the only scoring event that is not part of the regular racing calendar of a continental series.

“I am incredibly proud that we are intercontinental manufacturers' champions for the seventh time in a row. This once again underlines the strength of our global Customer Racing programme, which is one of the best in the world. My thanks go to our international teams, who have once again demonstrated impressive consistency and determination to win. With our Mercedes-AMG GT3 and worldwide support, we lay the foundations in Affalterbach, and our Customer Racing Teams translate these into impressive successes. It's a combination that makes me very confident about 2026 as well.” Christoph Sagemüller, Head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport
