Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA) announced today its next chapter of growth with a full-season campaign in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship LMP2 category beginning in 2026.

Widely recognized for its dominance in TCR with Hyundai, Bryan Herta Autosport has earned multiple championships and established itself as the benchmark operation in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge paddock. The move into the highly competitive LMP2 category represents the natural progression of the team’s growth trajectory, providing new challenges that will further allow mechanics, engineers, strategists, and other team members to gain experience in the WeatherTech Championship.

“Our entry into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is vital for building our foundation for the future,” said co-owner and Team President Bryan Herta.

“The LMP2 platform gives us the opportunity to develop our personnel and systems in a way that prepares us to compete at the highest level. It’s the next logical step for our organization, and one that we’ve been planning for some time.

"We’re incredibly excited to take this leap forward while continuing our championship-winning efforts in the Michelin Pilot Challenge with Hyundai. We have accepted this new challenge with the clear objective to prepare ourselves with the focus on growth and learning, but I am excited to see how the program has come together and I think we can also hope to achieve our share of success on track as well.”

The team’s new LMP2 effort will also allow BHA to fully leverage its recently acquired state-of-the-art headquarters in Brownsburg, Indiana. The expansive facility will serve as the engineering and operational hub for the program, enabling BHA to scale up with the infrastructure required to compete in IMSA’s premier endurance races.

Further details about Bryan Herta Autosport’s 2026 LMP2 program, including partners and driver lineup, will be revealed in the coming weeks. The program will debut at the IMSA WeatherTech Championship Official Test at Daytona International Speedway in November.
