PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports proudly announces that Logan Sargeant, former Formula One driver, will bolster their LMP2 roster for the final two endurance rounds of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Sargeant will pilot the #52 Oreca 07 at both the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

From Formula One to the Brickyard

At just 24 years old, Logan has already competed at motorsport’s highest level, racing in Formula One from 2023–2024 with Williams Racing. In his rookie F1 season, he became the first American in 30 years to score a championship point, achieving the feat at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin. His technical skill, relentless pace, and cool-headed racecraft under the sport’s most intense spotlight have made him one of America’s brightest modern racing exports.

Before reaching F1, Logan’s rise was nothing short of meteoric:

  • 2015 FIA Karting World KF Junior Champion – the first American to claim the title since 1978.

  • F4 and F3 standout, finishing 3rd in the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship.

  • 4th in the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Carlin, securing his Super Licence and a seat in Formula One.

Now, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida native turns his focus to endurance racing with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports, bringing Formula One-honed feedback, precision, and determination to the LMP2 cockpit.

Bobby Oergel, Team Principal / Co-Owner:

“Myself and all the crew here at PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports are very excited that Logan is able to join us for the last two endurance events of this season. I am sure Logan’s pace will be top-notch and everyone will work well together. We really want to welcome him into our team in a smooth and easy fashion. The opportunity to do some testing ahead of the Indy event should do just that.”

Logan Sargeant, Driver #52 LMP2 Oreca 07:

“I’m super excited to be jumping back into a car for the last two LMP2 races in IMSA with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. It’s a great opportunity to drive at two special tracks, Indianapolis and Road Atlanta, and help push for good results with my teammates Ben and Naveen. I’m eager to contribute to a successful couple races for the team, and bring my knowledge and experience to everyone involved. See you at the track.”

Naveen Rao, Driver #52 LMP2 Oreca 07:

“While Road America didn’t quite go our way, we had a really great car. The Indianapolis road course demands a lot of precision and I’m excited to see what our car can do there. I’m also looking forward to working with our new teammate, Logan Sargeant! We should have a great line-up with Logan and Benjamin for a 6 hour race.”

Benjamin Pedersen, Driver #52 LMP2 Oreca 07:

“I’m really excited for the last two rounds and to welcome Logan to the team! We’ve found a lot of speed in the car lately and our full focus for the last two rounds is 100% on getting a win.”
