Tommaso Mosca signed his first pole position in the GT Open, emerging as the fastest driver in the qualifying session for Race 2 at the Circuit Paul Ricard. The young Italian, at the wheel of the AF Corse Ferrari shared with Carl Bennett, posted a time of 2.00.723. “Our package is improving constantly and today everything aligned perfectly, let’s hope for this afternoon”, said Mosca.

It was a closely-fought session but no one could beat the time of Mosca’s last attempt. Four different brands are represented in the top five, with five Ferraris in the top ten.

Sharing first row with the Ferrari will be the GetSpeed Mercedes of Ralf Aron (+0s314), with the Estonian in great shape. In row 2 will be Christopher Haase in the Eastalent Audi (+0s498), with the Austrian outfit eager to recover from yesterday’s unlucky outing, and the Into Africa Racing Ferrari of Axcil Jefferies (+0s499). In third, the Greystone GT McLaren of Dean Macdonald (+0s499) and the SPS Mercedes of Yannick Mettler  (+0s690).

The championship leader Levente Révész (Motopark Mercedes) qualified only 17th while the best in Am was Krystian Korzeniowski (Olimp Racing Ferrari), with the ninth overall lap time.
