James Kell and Dean Macdonald will start from pole position in tomorrow’s GT Open 500 at Spa-Francorchamps, the first of the two endurance races (2hr55 + 1 lap of duration) in the 2025 calendar.

The British duo of the Greystone GT McLaren emerged as the fastest pair after the best time of each driver were taken into account. The average time was 2.14.196, with MacDonald topping the rankings in Q1 with what would be the best lap time of the day (2.13.475) and Kell was 7th-fastest in Q2.

Kell and Macdonald won the last GT Open 500 at Monza, which concluded the 2024 season, and are currently second in the overall standings, three points behind Levente Révész (paired here with Max Götz), who will sit next to them in first row in their Motopark Mercedes, only 0s046 behind the polemen.

In row 2 will be the Eastalent Audi of Reicher-Haase and the Motopark Mercedes of Visoiu-Krütten. In row 3, the Optimum Mclaren of Porter-Meakin and the GetSpeed Mercedes of Bartone-Schiller, while in row 4 will be the Oregon Lambo of Petrov-Doquin and the AF Corse Ferrari of Mosca-Bennett.

Olimp Racing’s Karol Basz and Marcin Jedlinski, who are driving again the Audi R8 LMS, took pole in Pro-Am and 9th overall, with Basz being the fastest overall in Q2 (2.13.903), while the Garage 59 McLaren of Miguel Ramos-Mark Sansom took the pole in Am.
