44 strong entry for round 2 in Paul Ricard
Thirty-three drivers and seven teams will race under the French flag, with 4 Hours of Barcelona overall race winners François Perrodo and Matthieu Vaxiviere, along with class winners Mathys Jaubert (LMP2), Célia Martin (LMGT3), Paul Lanchère (LMP3) and Adrien Closmenil (LMP3) all racing at home in Round 2.
LMP2: Round 1 Winners IDEC Sport Hoping for a Home Win in Le Castellet
Three French teams, IDEC Sport, VDS Panis Racing and Duqueine Team, will be vying for the top spot of the podium in the 4 Hours of Le Castellet, with the no18 IDEC Sport Oreca-Gibson of Mathys Jaubert, Britain’s Jamie Chadwick and Spain’s Daniel Juncadella looking to make it two from two at the team’s home event.
IDEC Sport also have the no28 Oreca with former champions Paul Lafargue and Paul Loup Chatin also looking for a home win alongside their Dutch teammate Job Van Uitert.
VDS Panis Racing finished second in Spain last month with Charles Milesi and Esteban Masson looking for a step up at home in Le Castellet aided by their British teammate Ollie Gray.
Reshad de Gerus took pole in Barcelona for Duqueine Team but the French driver and his teammates Roy Nissany and Francesco Simonazzi didn’t finish the race in Spain and will be hoping for better luck in the French round.
Other points of interest for the French fans on the LMP2 grid will be Théo Pourchaire in the no25 Algarve Pro Racing, Tom Dillmann in the no43 Inter Europol Competition, Tristan Vautier in the no37 CLX – Pure Rxcing, Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer in the no34 Inter Europol Competition, Vladislav Lomko in the no10 Vector Sport and Maceo Capietto in the no9 Iron Lynx-Proton.
United Autosports, Nielsen Racing and CLX Motorsport complete the 13 strong LMP2 grid.
LMP2 Pro/Am: AF Corse Travel to Le Castellet after Securing Overall Victory in Barcelona
The no83 AF Corse Oreca became the second LMP2 Pro/Am entry ever to take an overall win in an ELMS race after Matthieu Vaxiviere stormed through in the final stages of the race in Barcelona to take the chequered flag ahead of Mathys Jaubert in the no18 IDEC Sport.
Vaxiviere was joined on the top step of the podium by his French teammate François Perrodo and Italy’s Alessio Rovera. With Rovera taking part in another event for Ferrari, the two French drivers will be joined by 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Nicklas Nielsen for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet.
TDS Racing are the only French team on the LMP2 Pro/Am grid and arrive for their home race on the back of a podium finish in Spain with Clément Novalak, Mathias Beche and Rodrigo Sales standing on the third step of the podium in Spain.
Thomas Laurent is another driver racing at home in Le Castellet, the French driver joining Germany’s Laurents Horr and Greek driver Georgios Kolovos in the no3 DKR Engineering Oreca.
The no20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca of Olli Caldwell, Alex Quinn and Kriton Lentoudis finished second in class in Barcelona and travel to Le Castellet on 18 points. United Autosports, Nielsen Racing, Proton Competition and AO by TF make up the LMP2 Pro/Am grid.
LMP3: CLX Motorsport Riding High after Victory in Spain
French drivers Paul Lanchère and Adrien Closmenil celebrated with their Danish teammate Theodor Jensen after taking the first class win of the season for CLX Motorsport in Spain.
The trio took the win by just 1.9 seconds from reigning champions RLR MSport, with driver champions Michael Jensen and Nick Adcock celebrating on the podium with their new for 2025 French teammate Gillian Henrion.
Three French teams, Racing Spirit of Léman, Ultimate and M Racing, will feature an all-French driver line up.
Jacques Wolff, Jean-Ludovic Foubert and Marius Fossard will race the no31 Racing Spirit of Léman Ligier. Louis Stern will replace Louis Rossi in the no35 Ultimate Ligier alongside the Lahaye brother, Jean-Baptiste and Matthieu.
The M Racing Ligier will see Stephane Tribaudini and Quentin Antonel share the driving duties. The no11 Eurointernational Ligier will also see a two-driver line up, with French driver Fabien Michal joining his Mexican teammate, Ian Aguilera.
The no88 Inter Europol Competition Ligier finished third in Spain and will race in France with an unchanged lineup of Tim Creswick, Douwe Dedecker and Reece Gold.
LMGT3: Iron Dames Looking To Make It Two Wins in a Row
Célia Martin got her ELMS campaign off to a great start with a victory in Barcelona alongside her Iron Dames teammates Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting. The French driver had led in the no85 Porsche 911 for almost all of her stint to hand over to her teammates to bring home in front of the 13 car LMGT3 field in Spain.
There are a further five French drivers on the LMGT3 grid with French team Racing Spirit of Léman having three French drivers in the no59 Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3. Clément Mateu, Erwan Bastard and Valentin Hasse Clot will be hoping to improve on their 7th place finish in Spain last month.
Lilou Wadoux is the second French female driver on the ELMS grid, joining Custodio Toledo and Riccardo Agostini in the no50 Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 296 LMGT3. The no51 AF Corse Ferrari will be driven by French driver Charles-Henri Samani, Denmark’s Conrad Laursen and Italy’s Davide Rigon.
The LMGT3 grid also features a McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo run by United Autosports, a Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R entered by TF Sport and a Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 run by Iron Lynx, with Martin Berry claiming the first ELMS pole position for the German manufacturer in Barcelona.
The LMGT3 grid also features a pair of Ferrari 296s run by Kessel Racing, including the no57 296 that finished second in Spain. Spirit of Race, JMW Motorsport and GR Racing will each run a Ferrari 296 LMGT3, with former ELMS champions Proton Competition completing the 13 strong grid with a Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3 that finished on the class podium in Barcelona.
