All good things come in threes: Rutronik Racing is entering its third season in 2025 with a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the Pro class of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS. As in the previous year, the car with starting number #96 will compete in all races in the Endurance Cup and the Sprint Cup. The team's objective is clear: the drivers should use the car to fight for race wins and the title and build on the good performances of the previous season.

As in the previous year, the two Porsche contracted drivers Sven Müller and Patric Niederhauser will take the wheel of the 911 GT3 R at all ten race weekends. Last year in Barcelona, the two pilots celebrated the first overall victory for Porsche in the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup. The Belgian Alessio Picariello will support the two drivers in the five endurance races.

Müller, 32, is a true Porsche expert: since switching from single-seater racing to GT racing in 2014, he has driven only Porsche cars. In 2016, he won the German Porsche Carrera Cup and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Since then, he has been able to demonstrate his skills in GT3 racing in many series, such as the ADAC GT Masters, the GT World Challenge Europe and on the Nordschleife. In addition, the driver, who was born in Mainz, played a key role in the development of the current Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Sven Müller is looking forward to his second season with Rutronik Racing in the GT World Challenge Europe: ‘I'm looking forward to another season with Rutronik Racing in probably the strongest GT3 series in the world. Last year we achieved podium places and a win. This year the goal is clear. We are counting on strong consistency to continue driving with Patric in the GTWC sprint races and Alessio in the endurance races. I couldn't ask for a better line up. The motivation is stronger than ever and I can hardly wait until it finally starts."

Patric Niederhauser and Rutronik Racing have a long history of working together and friendship. In 2019, the Swiss driver won the ADAC GT Masters title together with the team from Remchingen. In the following years, with the exception of 2021, Niederhauser competed in the series with Rutronik Racing, before the two parted ways for 2023, when the team switched to Porsche and entered the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS. For the 2024 season, the 33-year-old Swiss joined Porsche as a contract driver and also returned to his long-standing team.

‘To be able to continue with the same team and same teammate is not usual in our sport - it's a privilege. We showed already great results last year, now it's time to convert it into regular podiums and more wins. With Rutronik Racing, Sven and Alessio, we have all it takes and I just can't wait to get things going,’ said Patric Niederhauser ahead of the 2025 season with Rutronik Racing.

New to the Rutronik Racing line-up is 31-year-old Belgian Alessio Picariello, who will support Müller and Niederhauser in the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup races. Picariello has been competing in Porsche cars since 2020 and has twice been crowned GTE champion in the European Le Mans Series. The former Formel ADAC champion has also gained experience with the Porsche 963 LMDh prototype in the American IMSA Championship.

Alessio Picariello is looking forward to working with Rutronik Racing: ‘I’m very happy to be part of Rutronik’s Pro car efforts in GT World Challenge Endurance for the 2025 season! Competing for overall honors in the Spa 24 Hours makes it even more exciting. I can’t wait to start working with my two strong teammates, Patric and Sven, and push together for a great season!‘

‘We start with great anticipation in our third season in the GT World Challenge Europe together with Rutronik, Porsche and all our partners. We have worked very hard over the winter, significantly strengthened our team again and set the course for a strong challenge for race wins and the title. As in previous years, the competition is extremely strong and our goal from the start of the season will be to establish ourselves in the front ranks. With Sven and Patric, we have a very strong and very experienced driver pairing for the whole season. Our results at the end of the season provided impressive proof of this. In Alessio, we welcome a top Porsche works driver for the Endurance races to our ranks. I am convinced that he will integrate seamlessly into our team,’ says Rutronik Racing Team Principal Klaus Graf.

As usual, the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS will comprise ten race weekends in 2025. There will be five Endurance Cup and five Sprint Cup events. While two races will be held over an hour at each of the Sprint Cup events, the race format in the Endurance Cup is somewhat more diverse. The race series will hold a three-hour race at Monza, at the Nürburgring and in Barcelona, and a six-hour race at the season opener in Le Castellet. The season highlight will once again be the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa, which, with around 70 cars, is the world's largest GT3 race.
