Logan Sargeant says no to ELMS with IDEC Sport and Genesis Magma Racing

With Logan Sargeant, IDEC Sport has a driver fresh out of Formula 1 for the team's tenth anniversary year. We should say 'had' rather than 'has'.

IDEC Sport is currently testing in Barcelona in preparation for the European Le Mans Series season, where Mathys Jaubert and Jamie Chadwick, two of the three regulars on the LMP2 program, are present in an Oreca 07 bearing GMR (Genesis Magma Racing) stickers. On the other hand, there's no trace of Logan Sargeant on the Catalan circuit, given that the 2025 season kicks off there on April 6.

Does this mean his absence from Spain goes even further? According to our information, the former Williams F1 driver won't be taking part in this year's endurance racing adventure in the LMP2 class, although he was more than likely to join the Genesis Magma Racing Hypercar program in 2026, where Pipo Derani and André Lotterer have already been confirmed.

What about Logan Sargeant's future? The 24-year-old American driver tested an IndyCar single-seater with Meyer Shank Racing at the end of 2024, but the 2025 line-up has been finalized less than two weeks before the season kicks off in St Petersburg.
