The Heart of Racing Announces World Endurance Championship LMGT3 Lineup
The Heart of Racing Team welcomes Zacharie Robichon and Mattia Drudi to drive alongside Ian James on board the No. 27 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Heart of Racing Team FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) LMGT3 entry.
Robichon rejoins the team after competing in the No. 27 Heart of Racing IMSA WeatherTech GTD entry in 2024. The 2021 IMSA WeatherTech GTD Champion made his first 24 hours of Le Mans start in 2022 where he finished 16th. In 2023, Robichon competed in a partial WEC season before completing the full WEC LMGT3 season in 2024, earning four top ten finishes. The Canadian started the 2025 season with the Heart of Racing Team as part of the driver lineup in the 24 hours of Dubai (4th), Rolex 24 At Daytona (3rd), and Bathurst 12 Hours (1st).
“I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of the Heart of Racing for a little over a year now,” said Robichon. “I’m excited to finally be able to complete a full season together with Ian and Mattia in WEC. This championship is one that I love and to have the chance to compete with Aston Martin and the Heart of Racing Team is one that cannot come soon enough!”
Drudi will make his WEC debut with the Heart of Racing Team at the Qatar season opener. The Italian driver competed in SRO’s GT World Challenge Europe for the past five seasons, securing twelve podium finishes including a win in the 2024 24 Hours of Spa in an Aston Martin Vantage. Most recently Drudi was a part of the Heart of Racing Team’s third place finish at the 2025 Rolex 24 At Daytona.
"I’m super excited to be making my FIA WEC debut with the Heart of Racing Team,” said Drudi. “Zach was one of the best Silver rated drivers in 2024 and Ian has been one of the quickest Bronze rated drivers. I think overall we have a really strong lineup. The Aston Martin Vantage was one of the strongest and most competitive cars last year. I can’t wait to get the season started in Qatar later this month.”
James returns to the cockpit of the No. 27 Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3 for the third season. The Heart of Racing’s Team Principal was a part of the team’s original WEC lineup who first took the field in 2023 for a partial season before moving to a full season entry in 2024. James secured the team’s first WEC pole position and won at the Heart of Racing’s home track of Circuit of the Americas in September of 2024. James has an additional three podiums in the LMGT3 category since 2023.
“I’m excited to see what the 2025 season holds for our team,” said James. “Zach and Mattia are both great drivers and have already shown what they can do this season at Daytona. We have a solid crew working on our Aston Martin, they have been on our car since we started in WEC. This season we will be building on the success we had the previous two seasons.”
