Proton Huber Competition will compete in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with a Porsche 911 GT3 R in 2025. The team from Hofkirchen in Bavaria will compete in the international GT3 and LMP3 racing series in cooperation with the Iron Dames.

Iron Dames was founded by Deborah Mayer in 2018 and is a groundbreaking project that supports women in competing on equal terms with men in motorsport. In 2023, the Iron Dames clinched their much-celebrated first class victory in the FIA WEC.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R is driven by young Spaniard Marta Garcia, who became the first female champion of the F1 Academy in 2023. After winning the title in the racing series, which is contested exclusively by women, she switched to GT racing in 2024 and competed in her first races in the Ligier European Series as part of the ELMS and the Michelin Le Mans Cup.

"I’m extremely happy to announce that I’m going to be competing in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in the Porsche GT3, and it's all the more special knowing I'll be racing alongside Vanina. This is a big step in my career and a new chapter that fills me with motivation and excitement. I want to thank Iron Dames for the opportunity and we will work as hard as we can to achieve strong results", says the delighted 24-year-old Garcia.

Belgian Vanina Ickx will share the cockpit of the Porsche 911 GT3 R with Marta Garcia. Ickx is the daughter of Belgian racing legend Jacky Ickx and, in her long career in motor racing, has competed in the DTM as an Audi works driver, among other things. She will be able to pass on important tips to Garcia, drawing on her experience in endurance racing.

Vanina Ickx is also looking forward to the upcoming racing year in the Porsche: ‘"Never say never! I thought I’d retired for good, but here I am. The opportunity to join the Iron Dames and participate in a championship as competitive as the Michelin Le Mans Cup was simply too good to miss. A great programme of six thrilling races on some of the world’s most iconic circuits awaits Marta and I. I’ve had to get back into gear to keep up with my talented team-mate and the whole Iron Dames team. Together, we’ll strive to carry the Iron Dames flag high and continue inspiring others."

In the 2025 season, the Michelin Le Mans Cup will hold a total of six race weekends. Normally, the racing series is held as part of the ELMS programme, with the championship contesting one race per weekend over a distance of 1h50min. In addition, two races, each lasting 55 minutes, will be held as part of the programme for the Le Mans 24-hour race.
