New GTX1 class launched for Portimao debut

The Gulf 12 Hours promoter introduces GTX1, a new category for top-tier 'cup' cars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Porsche which makes its debut at Portimao next month.
GTX1 cars will compete in the Gulf 12 Hours for the first time in Abu Dhabi on 14 December 2025. To prepare for this exciting addition, the GTX1 Cup will be held in Portimão, Portugal on 14-16 February 2025.
This preliminary event will focus on developing a state-of-the-art Balance of Performance (BOP) between the four car types.
As part of the launch of GTX1, teams entering the GTX1 Cup in Portimao will enjoy exclusive benefits, including free car transport from Europe to Abu Dhabi for the Gulf 12 Hours.
The GTX1 class is open to the following cars: Ferrari 488 Challenge, Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, McLaren Artura Trophy, and Porsche 911 Cup (992).
Teams, drivers, and stakeholders can pre-register their interest to receive full details, which will be shared by promoter Driving Force Events on Monday, 20 January 2025.
