Volante Rosso has confirmed three junior stars for its assault on the 2025 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.

Australian young charger Jaylen Robotham, 22, will be joined by GT4 European Series duo Jamie Day, 19, and Mateo Villagomez, 22, in the team’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3.

The trio will contest the Silver class and form the youngest line-up of drivers at the 2025 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.

For Robotham, it marks his Bathurst 12 Hour debut, however, he is no stranger to The Mountain.

The Victorian has competed in the past three Bathurst 1000s, the most recent with Bryce Fullwood at Brad Jones Racing. Robotham is a previous frontrunner in Super2 and has kept himself race fit competing in a variety of classes in Thailand – including GT3 competition.

“I’m really looking forward to the Bathurst 12 Hour with Volante Rosso and its Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3,” said Robotham.

“The car looks amazing and can’t wait to get behind the wheel.

“The Bathurst 12 Hour is one of the last events for me to tick off my bucket list, and hopefully we can get a good result.

“Both of my team-mates are Aston Martin academy drivers, so I’m keen to learn as much as I can. The are both Bathurst rookies, so I’ll be ready to give them as much information as I can about the track, and I know that they’ll be able to help me get my head around the car.

“I really think we have a strong line-up, and I can’t thank Volante Rosso enough for the opportunity to race with them in this iconic event.”

Day is another young driver arriving at The Mountain with enviable credentials having recently become the latest Aston Martin Racing Driver Academy graduate. He was the winner of last year's British GT4 Silver Cup title and is a leading driver in the GT4 European Series. Day contested the Dubai 24 Hours recently as part of the factory-supported Comtoyou Racing to finish third in Pro-Am.

"I am super excited to get started for the Bathurst 12 hour teaming up with Volante Rosso,” said Day.

“This has always been a bucket list race and I can't thank Aston Martin Racing and Volante Rosso enough for making it possible. I’m excited to see what we can do.”

Villagomez completes the line-up after teaming with Day through the GT4 European Series season in 2024. Vastly experienced in European GT4 driving Aston Martin's Vantage AMR GT4, Villagomez also brings Formula 4 and Prototype Cup experience on his first visit to Bathurst.

“I’m really happy to be racing the Aston Martin for this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour,” said Villagomez.

“It is going to be a new challenge for me with Volante Rosso’s GT3 entry.

“I’ve been told that the whole environment and the mountain is crazy. It will be a new experience but I’m really looking forward to doing such an iconic race.”

This entry marks Volante Rosso’s return to Australia’s premier GT event after achieving a class podium in 2023, while this is the first time since 2020 that an Aston Martin will feature on the 12 Hour grid.

It will be the first Bathurst start for Volante Rosso’s Aston Martin after its arrival on Australian shores in mid-2024. Volante Rosso is also an Aston Martin Racing partner team.

“We feel that we have a very strong line-up of drivers for the Bathurst 12 Hour,” said Hunt.

“Despite their young ages, we have an excellent mix of experience with both the cars and the track. They are all going to be soaking in as much information as they can and it will be great to see how they progress over the weekend.

“We’ve had success in this race before. That was a great feeling to be on the podium in 2023, so we’re definitely aiming for more of that this year.”

The 2025 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour will be held on January 31-February 2.
