FIA WEC publishes updated 2025 entry list
With barely six weeks to go until the season start, 12 of the 18 Hypercar crews in the field – representing eight major automotive brands – have been fully confirmed. Only Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA and Alpine Endurance Team are still to reveal the exact composition of their line-ups, and the new Aston Martin THOR Team is yet to announce four of the six drivers that will pilot the brand’s striking Valkyries over the coming months.
It is a similar story in LMGT3. Team WRT recently reconfirmed motorcycling legend Valentino Rossi for a second consecutive campaign in the championship, while elsewhere in the category, there has been a game of off-season musical chairs, with drivers moving between BMW, Lexus, McLaren and Porsche machinery.
Amongst the intriguing additions at LMGT3 level are rising Brazilian star Eduardo Barrichello – son of multiple grand prix-winner Rubens Barrichello – and Aston Martin Racing factory driver Valentin Hasse Clot at new entrant Racing Spirit of Léman.
Akkodis ASP Team, Heart of Racing Team, Iron Lynx – with its pair of hotly-anticipated Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 cars – Proton Competition and United Autosports are all yet to unveil their full line-ups.
The forthcoming eight-round campaign will get underway with the Qatar 1812km on 28 February, visiting five different regions prior to concluding in Bahrain on 8 November. The racing action will be preceded by the traditional ‘Prologue’ group test for all competitors on 21-22 February at Lusail International Circuit, scene of the curtain-raising contest.
