ABM Racing is thrilled to announce the addition of promising young talent Mathys Cappuccio to its driver lineup for the 2025 season of the prestigious Porsche Carrera Cup France.
Hailing from Var, France, Cappuccio’s appointment marks a significant step forward in his burgeoning career as he embarks on his first full-season campaign in this highly competitive championship. Cappuccio’s impressive journey through the Porsche Carrera Cup junior programme in France has been characterised by an exceptional attitude, adaptability, and, most notably, a maturity and dedication that belies his youth. His strong work ethic and commitment to growth made a compelling impression on the ABM Racing team.
Mathys Cappuccio said: “This is fantastic news for me and an unforgettable start to 2025. At just 17 years old, competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup France and joining a top team like ABM Racing is an incredible opportunity. I am immensely grateful to my partners and everyone who made this possible. Representing the Porsche Centres of Toulon and Fréjus is a great honour. The challenge ahead is immense, and I know it requires humility, patience, and a strong willingness to learn. Fortunately, I am surrounded by a team of experienced professionals who will guide me every step of the way. My participation in the Junior Programme selection at Circuit Paul Ricard was a crucial first step, and now my focus is on making the most of this next chapter. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Porsche GT3 and begin this exciting journey.”
ABM Racing team principal Charles Ancelin added: “We are proud to welcome Mathys Cappuccio to the team and look forward to supporting him as he takes on the Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2025. We are confident that with his talent and determination, he will make a lasting impact in this renowned championship.”
The Porsche Carrera Cup has long been a proving ground for motorsport talent, with many drivers who graduated from the programme going on to achieve global fame in motorsport's upper echelons. This one-make series, known for its fierce competition and identical Porsche 911 race cars, sharpens the skills of young drivers and prepares them for higher-level racing. Notable alumni include Formula 1 stars like Charles Leclerc and Kévin Estre, who refined their craft in the Carrera Cup before making a name in premier racing categories. Additionally, drivers like Nick Tandy, a Carrera Cup graduate, went on to claim victory at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans with Porsche's LMP1 team, along with Earl Bamber.
The programme’s rigorous training, competitive environment, and Porsche's support network have solidified its reputation as a launchpad for professional racing careers. Cappuccio is the latest talent looking to take every advantage of these opportunities.
