DragonSpeed has announced its full-time entry into the prestigious GTD Pro class of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Stepping up to the pinnacle of North American GT competition, the longtime LMP2 frontrunners will campaign a Ferrari 296 GT3, marking a new chapter in its storied motorsport journey.
Joining the DragonSpeed campaign as a full-season driver is Albert Costa, the Spanish Le Mans LMP2 winner and IMSA GTD star. Costa’s proven talent underscores the team’s commitment to success as it transitions into GTD Pro. The team’s full driver lineup and livery for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, IMSA’s flagship event, will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
DragonSpeed Team Principal Elton Julian said, "After achieving nearly everything possible in global LMP2, I am proud to bring the team to the top class of American GT racing. Signing a talent like Albert to be our full-time driver signals our intentions for 2025. There are many more details to be revealed, but I’m very pleased with the package we are putting together and expect to be in contention from the start of the season at Daytona."
