Korthoff Preston has rebranded for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season as Korthoff Competition Motors, with the support of new partner Competition Motors. The team will continue entering the No. 32 Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) class with a full-season driver lineup of Kenton Koch and Seth Lucas.

The 2025 season will mark Korthoff’s fifth season in the GTD class and eighth overall in the WeatherTech Championship.

Koch has two career IMSA wins, at the 2016 Rolex 24 At Daytona in the Prototype Challenge (PC) class and this year with Korthoff Preston in GTD at VIRginia International Raceway. Lucas has raced the past two seasons in the Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) and Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) classes.

Maximilian Goetz, a Platinum-rated driver with extensive racing experience, will also rejoin the team as a Mercedes-AMG factory driver for the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup events.

“We are excited for the return of Kenton Koch and the introduction of our newest driver Seth Lucas as our dynamic young stars,” Team owner Herb Korthoff said. “Their talent and energy will be complemented by the wisdom and experience of Max Goetz. This combination gives us a strong lineup as we approach the season. We believe it will position us well to be competitive in the upcoming season.”

Koch said he is “thrilled” to return to the team in 2025. “It’s been awesome to have been here the last two years in the endurance role and now have the opportunity to pair with Seth for the full season will be a treat,” he said. “I’ve known Maxi from his 24-hour runs with us the last two years and am happy to have his expertise in all the long races now. I can’t thank Herb, Walt (Preston, team manager) and the team enough for the opportunity.”

Lucas is eager to join the team that finished third in this year’s GTD standings.

“I’m very excited to be working with Korthoff Competition Motors next season in the Mercedes-AMG,” Lucas said. “Huge thanks to Herb, Walt and the team for believing in me and giving me the chance to make my GTD debut.”
