In a bid to make its races clearer to understand, the ACO - after upgrading its ‘position lights’ - has decided to change the colour code of its LMGT3 category from Orange to Green.

Since 2010, the ACO has been using a colour code to differentiate its categories, notably in terms of the backgrounds of their race number panels. The top class has always had red and the LMP2 category blue. But remember that in 2009, yellow was chosen for the GT2 category and green for GT1?

The following year, the GT2s swapped yellow for orange. The 2011 campaign saw the disappearance of GT1 and the emergence of GTE Pro (green) and GTE Am (orange). These colours have remained unchanged ever since, with LMGT3 taking on the orange of GTE Am this year.
