For some time now, BMW M Team WRT has been announcing that Valentino Rossi would be taking the wheel of the M Hybrid V8, the Bavarian firm's LMDh, which just scored its best result in the WEC last Sunday, finishing second in the 6 Hours of Fuji.

Unsurprisingly, this will take place in Bahrain, as part of the WEC Rookie Test to be held on Sunday November 3, the day after the 2024 season finale. The Italian will share the track with Reshad de Gérus and Gillian Henrion, the two rookies selected by the WEC thanks to their performances in 2023.

Of course, this in no way suggests that the former MotoGP star will be arriving in the top class in the future. His future is also in question, as he would not like to return to such a busy schedule.

While The Doctor's 2025 season will still be with BMW and WRT, his programme has yet to be defined, apart from a participation in the Bathurst 12 Hours, the opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, on the weekend of February 2. After that, he will have to make a choice, but he should not, as was the case in 2024, combine WEC, GT World Challenge Europe - Endurance Cup and IGTC.
