The DragonSpeed sportscar racing team will extend its long history with the legendary Ferrari marque in 2025, running a full-season entry in the GT Daytona class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship while continuing its involvement in Ferrari Challenge North America competition.

Following this weekend’s Ferrari Challenge finale at Indianapolis, DragonSpeed’s new Ferrari 296 GT3 machine will debut at the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks on 22 September in the hands of Henrik Hedman, Rasmus Lindh, and Ferrari ambassador driver Toni Vilander, the six-hour race marking Indy’s first IMSA enduro.

DragonSpeed’s history with Ferrari stretches back to team principal Elton Julian’s driving career, racing a Ferrari 333 SP to second place at Daytona and fastest lap at Sebring in 1995. Jumping ahead to 2011, DragonSpeed scored the best-ever Daytona result for the Ferrari 360. 2014 saw the team claim second in the Pirelli World Challenge’s GTA class with a Ferrari 458 piloted by loyal Bronze driver Henrik Hedman.

Elton Julian: “We’re really looking forward to renewing our links with Ferrari and being back in IMSA full time next year, competing against the world’s toughest GT field. Our move into GTD opens the door to a bright future for the team and our whole crew is up for the new challenge.”
