Wintery conditions continued this morning at the Red Bull Ring and it even snowed in the night in the hills around the track, but Qualifying for Race 1 took place in dry although cold conditions.

It was a closely-fought session which eventually saw the Oregon Lambo of Jordan Pepper prevail. It’s the first pole of the season for both the team and the South African, who was clearly satisfied after the session. "We worked well yesterday and today, with better conditions, everything went well.”

Sharing first row this afternoon will be the AF Corse Ferrari of Allam Khodair after the Brazilian put a sensational lap (+0s296) on a track he particularly likes.

Second row will be for the Mercedes of Fabian Schiller (GetSpeed, +0s439), who led he session at some point, and local hero Lukas Dunner (Motopark, +0s441), while Karol Basz (Olimp Audi, +0s487) and Nico Menzel (Car Collection Porsche, +0s494), who topped the rankings in the initial part of the session, will be in row 3.

The championship leading Eastalent Audi will start from P12 with Simon Reicher, while Krystian Korzeniowski (Olimp Ferrari) was the fastest driver in Am.

There was only one short interruption to  rescue the Car Collection Porsche of ‘Hash’, with no other incidents to report.
