COTA FP3 : Cadillac Racing and TF Sport Fastest Ahead of CoTA Qualifying

Alex Lynn tops times for Cadillac as top five cars split by 0.072s in final practice. TF Sport Corvettes take 1-2 in LMGT3 with Daniel Juncadella fastest once again.

The final 60-minutes of free practice takes place for tomorrow’s Lone Star Le Mans race at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas for round six of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.

 

Leading the way and pleasing local fans is the No.2 Cadillac Racing Hypercar as Alex Lynn stops the clocks on a 1m51.471s the fastest time of the week so far. Cadillac lead the No.50 Ferrari AF Corse 499 driven by Antonio Fuoco who laps just 0.040s off Lynn. Toyota make it three different manufacturers in the top three positions with Kamui Kobayashi peaking on a 1m51.533s

 

Fourth sees the No.83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P as Robert Kubica laps just 0.001s off Kobayashi. Brendon Hartley in the No.8 Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010 Hybrid Hypercar sits fifth making it just 0.072s covering the top five.

 

Hertz Team Jota end session in sixth position as Norman Nato sets a peak lap of 1m51.712s. No.51 Ferrari AF Corse with Antonio Giovinazzi in the cockpit ends session seventh ahead of the fastest of the Alpine A424 Hypercar driven by Mick Schumacher. Top 10 completed by the No.99 Proton Competition Porsche 963 (Andlauer) and the No.38 Hertz Team Jota Porsche (Button). Points leading No.6 Porsche 963 ends session in 11th position after brief off-track moment by Kevin Estre early in session

 

LM GT3:

 

No.82 TF Sport lead LMGT3 as Daniel Juncadella snatches the best time on final lap by scorching to a best time of 2m05.178s. Charlie Eastwood had set the best time of 2m05.351s in No.81 TF Sport Corvette LMGT3.

 

Davide Rigon claims late time of 2m05.542s in No.54 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari and secures third place. Young Swiss talent Gregoire Saucy build impressive lap of 2m05.549s for McLaren in fourth.

 

Ian James had led the way in the early running after posting a 2m05.621s lap in the No.27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage but ultimately places fifth. No.60 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan again shows promise at the front as Franck Perera again sets best time in car he shares with Matteo Cressoni and Claudio Schiavone and places sixth.

 

No.55 VISTA AF Corse places in seventh as Alessio Rovera posts time but also suffers lurid moment at T15 and leaves track before re-joining. Jose-Maria Lopez in No.87 Akkodis ASP Lexus completes top eighth after posting best lap in final moments of the hour long session.

 

Championship points leading No.92 Manthey PureRxcing Porsche 911 RSR GT3 takes 10th fastest time
