Ian Loggie and Phil Keen make Porsche switch with 2 Seas Motorsport

Ian Loggie and Phil Keen have switched from Mercedes-AMG to Porsche for the two remaining rounds of this year’s British GT Championship.   

2 Seas will continue to oversee the entry and pairing who lie fourth in the standings ahead of Donington Park next weekend.

The latest 992 specification 911 GT3 R, which was introduced in 2023, has only made one British GT appearance to date courtesy of Team Parker Racing, Nick Jones and Scott Malvern at Silverstone last year.

Loggie’s example – also a former TPR-run chassis – features Porsche’s classic 1998 Le Mans-winning livery, which adorned that year’s factory 911 GT1 driven by fellow Scot Allan McNish, as well as Laurent Aïello and Stéphane Ortelli.

It follows hot on the heels of the iconic D2 design that Loggie’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 has used for the past two seasons.

“It’s nigh on impossible to source a new Porsche GT3 so when the opportunity arose to acquire a low mileage example I jumped at the chance,” said Loggie. “The 992 has been successful all over the world in factory and customer hands, and I really hope that translates to British GT as well. Porsche has such a great history in this championship so hopefully we can add some spice to the last two events.

“The D2 livery was very popular so I wanted another striking design for the 911 that also echoed GT racing’s history. And really that conversation begins and ends with the ’98 Le Mans winner, which also featured a Scot of course. Hopefully the fans appreciate it.”

Donington will be the first time since 2018 that Loggie has raced something other than a Mercedes-AMG in British GT. However, he has tasted success with Porsche elsewhere after winning the 2013 Britcar title in a 997-spec car.

His co-driver Keen is also no stranger to domestic achievements in Stuttgart-made machinery after scoring his first six British GT victories – two in class and four overall – at the wheel of 911s back in 2006-07 and 2013-14.

The last of those, achieved with Trackspeed and Jon Minshaw at Donington, remains Porsche’s final British GT win in any class.

The duo are 38 points behind current leaders Rob and Ricky Collard with a maximum of 75 available for winning the final two races at Donington and Brands Hatch. They tested the 911 for the first time at Donington yesterday ahead of a second test at the same venue tomorrow.
