New Teams set to enter Asian Le Mans Series in 2024-2025

With the deadline for full season entries of Friday 30th August approaching fast, the grid for the 2024/25 season, which begins in Sepang, Malaysia, with a double header this December, is filling up fast.

 

There is already a good mixture of the established regular teams coming back for another thrilling season of top-class endurance racing and new teams, such as Climax Racing, Tsunami RT and Winward Racing, wanting to step up to the challenge that the Asian Le Mans Series offers.

 

Climax Racing

Chinese team Climax Racing was founded by Chinese GT racer Zhou Bihuang at the end of 2019 with its headquarters in Jiading, Shanghai.

 

Climax Racing has successfully implemented a multi-brand operation structure. The team currently operates nearly 20 GT racing cars, including GT3 and GT4 racing cars from multiple super luxury brands including Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz AMG and Audi R8.

 

For the 2024/25 Asian Le Mans Series Climax Racing will enter a pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, with team owner Mike Zhou, who raced with Get Speed and Sainteloc previously, registered as one of the drivers.

 

Climax Racing Have enjoyed several successes in China, including becoming the 2021 China Endurance Team Champions, the China Auto Endurance GT3 and GT4 Team Champions, the China Endurance GT4 ProAm Champions, the GTSSC GT3 Drivers Championship and third in the PCCA Asia Porsche Carrera Cup ProAm Series. Tsunami RTOriginally founded in Odessa, Ukraine in 2007 and now based in San Marino and Italy, Tsunami RT has made a name for itself both in the Porsche Carrera Cup and in rallying. The team will enter a single Porsche 911 GT3 R in the 2024/25 Asian Le Mans Series, with the driver line up including 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Fabio Babini.

 

Winward RacingWinward Racing is a familiar name to racing fans the world over, competing in IMSA, DTM and GT World Challenge.  They now embark on a new challenge in the Asian Le Mans Series with a pair of Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO.

 

The European arm of the team is based in Altendiez, between Frankfurt and Cologne and also in Pasadena, Texas and the two cars will race under the Stars and Stripes for the Asian Le Mans Series.
