The 20th edition of the 24-hour race in Dubai will take place from 10 - 12 January 2025. Over the past two decades, the endurance race has developed into a minor classic in GT racing. The upcoming edition of the race will celebrate a small debut, as the race will be run on Michelin tyres for the first time - the French tyre manufacturer will also be the new title sponsor of the Michelin 24h Dubai.

The provisional entry list for the race in the United Arab Emirates includes around 80 race cars, including 36 GT3 cars. Among the teams is Walkenhorst Motorsport: the racing team from Lower Saxony is planning to enter two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s for the endurance race in the desert state.

„The 24h Dubai will be the start of our season next year. In combination with the 6h of Abu Dhabi just one week after the 24h race, it offers excellent conditions to complete many kilometres under racing conditions. In addition, there are various additional test days on both circuits before the events, which we would like to use with our drivers to be well prepared for the endurance races“, says Managing Director Jörg Breuer.

Just like the Michelin 24h Dubai, the Michelin 6h Abu Dhabi is part of the 24H Series Middle East Trophy, giving the drivers the opportunity to fight for the first title win in the 2025 racing season with Walkenhorst Motorsport.

The last time Walkenhorst Motorsport competed in the Dubai 24 Hours was in 2014, when the team entered a BMW Z4 GT3 driven by former BMW factory driver Claudia Hürtgen and team founder Henry Walkenhorst, among others. The driver quintet finished sixth in the overall standings at the time.

However, the team from Lower Saxony has also celebrated successes in the desert in recent years. In 2023, the team won the title in the GT class of the Asian Le Mans Series, which at the time was contested exclusively on the two race tracks, which were only around 105 kilometres apart. This earned the team a starting place in the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans.

„Walkenhorst Motorsport and the race tracks in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been a success story in recent years! We want to continue this in January 2025 and fight for top results with our Aston Martin in both races! We also want to use the races to test potential drivers for the 2025 season under racing conditions“, concludes Niclas Königbauer, Managing Director Walkenhorst Motorsport.

Walkenhorst Motorsport still has driver places available for the two races in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Interested drivers are requested to contact the team.
