2025 Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia and Japan Cup dates revealed
SRO Motorsports Group Asia will stage its biggest-ever season in 2025 when two championships – Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS and the Japan Cup – feature a total of 20 races held across eight events and circuits.
A broad schedule was originally revealed in late June before specific dates and some details were fully finalised. But next year’s calendar is now locked in, save for the precise weekend and location of its season finale.
Both championships will again stage two 60-minute races at each circuit. Fanatec GT Asia is also still reserved for GT3 cars, while a multi-class element remains integral to the Japan Cup format.
As previously confirmed, Sepang, a first-ever visit to Indonesia’s Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, and Chang comprise the first half of Fanatec GT Asia’s seventh campaign in April, May and June.
Sugo then hosts the first of Japan Cup’s two standalone events – that’s one more than this year – before Fuji and Okayama welcome both series as part of the SRO GT PowerTour package in July and August.
Japan Cup’s season then draws to a close on the same weekend as the revived Suzuka 1000km when the timetable allows teams to contest both domestic one-hour races and the Intercontinental GT Challenge round should they wish. The latter will not count towards Fanatec GT Asia’s campaign, but these teams will be encouraged to enter the endurance race on behalf of themselves and their manufacturer.
A still-to-be-confirmed venue in China then rounds out Asia’s 2025 calendar in October. Further details will be confirmed in due course.
