In his first appearance in the GT Open, 19-year-old Eliseo Donno stunned everybody by taking pole for Race 2 at the Hungaroring. The Italian of AF Corse, who replaces Giorgio Sernagiotto in the Ferrari #25 of Alessandro Cozzi, posted a time of 1.42.816, beating teammate Vincent Abril by 0s041. The best congratulation for Donno came from Abril himself, certainly not a ‘veteran’, when he said: “These  young guys are fast!”.

The session was interrupted twice with red flags, for two off-tracks: no serious consequences for the Mercedes of Morten Strømsted while the Spirit of Race Ferrari of Gino Forgione had some serious damage in the rear after hitting the barriers. The stops somehow ruined the effort of another debuting teenager, Simon Connor Primm (Oregon Lambo), who led the first part of the session.

In row 2 will be the Ferrari of David Fumanelli (racing one, +0s289) and the Audi that won yesterday, with Christopher Haase (Eastalent, +0s374), while sitting in row 3 will be the Porsche of Nico Menzel (Car Collection, +0s468) and the Lambo of Maximilian Paul (Oregon, +0s536).
