GT Open - Siebert (Motopark Mercedes) fastest in qualifying’s part 1 after a long interruption

The first part of the qualifying session for GT Open 500 saw in action Drivers 1 on a dry track. The grid for the endurance race will be based on the best average lap time taking into account the best laps of each driver.

 

The session was marked by the heavy crash of the #63 Team Oregon Lamborghini driven by Rolf Ineichen at Raidillon at the half-session mark. The Swiss driver walked out from the car by is own means and is OK, but the car is damaged beyond repair on site.

 

The session was interrupted more than one hour to allow marshalls to repair the barriers.

 

Two Mercedes topped the rankings, with Marcos Siebert (Motopark) posting a time of 2.16.798, only 0s040 ahead of Jordan Love (Triple Eight JRM).

Karol Basz was third-fastest in the Olimp Racing Audi (+0s158), followed by Dominik Bauumann (SPS Mercedes, +0s188), Jordan Pepper (Oregon Lambo, +0s245), Vincent Abril (AF Corse Ferrari, +0s266), Lorens Lecertua (Comtoyou Aston, +0s680) and Artëm Petrov (Oregon Lambo, +0s680).
