The 2024 season has started well for Formula Racing, who secured victory in the new LMGT3 class at the first round of the European Le Mans Series at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya earlier this month. Now there is even more reason to celebrate, as the Danish Ferrari team has secured a place at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

"It's huge news, and it's a bit unexpected as we've been on standby on the reserve list. Le Mans is the world's biggest motorsport event and a race that all sportscar teams dream of beating, including us, so we are proud and very excited to be on the entry list for the second time in our history" says Team Principal at Formula Racing, Allan Jørgensen.

As Formula Racing has taken over the seat from another Ferrari team, the Danish team will compete under the name Spirit of Race and under the Swiss flag. This will be in the new LMGT3 class, where the team will compete against 22 other cars from the world's best GT teams.

The crew is made up of former Ferrari Challenge and former European Le Mans champion Johnny Laursen and the young talent Conrad Laursen, who despite being only 17 years old already has several podium results and a race victory in the European Championship series under his belt. The Laursen duo will be joined by a yet to be announced third driver.

"It's a dream come true. The 2024 season has got off to a great start with a victory in the first round of the European Le Mans Series. There's no doubt that Le Mans will be many times harder, but we have a strong team behind us and are looking forward to coming to France and representing Denmark in the world's biggest race," says Conrad Laursen.

"We are proud to have the chance to compete for the second time at Le Mans, which this year ushers in a new era of GT3 cars. We've already made a name for ourselves among the world elite in the European Championship series, and with the setup we've developed, I firmly believe we have the ability to make our mark at Le Mans as well," says Johnny Laursen.

This year's edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans kicks off with the traditional test day on Sunday 9 June, while the official practice and qualifying sessions take place on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 June. The 24-hour race will be green flagged on Saturday 15 June at 16:00.
