The day after his pole position, Aliaksandr Malykhin retained the benefit of first place with the #92 Manthey PureRxcing Porsche and set the pace for the LMGT3 field. The start of the race was marked by an incident at the start involving the #91 Manthey EMA Porsche and the #85 Iron Dames Lamborghini, forcing the latter to retire in the second hour.

The winners of the Qatar Airways 1812 km of Qatar maintained their lead over Team WRT's BMW no. 46, despite the best efforts of local legend Valentino Rossi. The Belgian team's second M4, the n°31 driven by Sean Gelael, completed the provisional podium at the halfway mark. The onset of rain reshuffled the cards, as the #92 Porsche was recalled to the pits, leaving the race to the BMW duo, who had taken the winning gamble of retaining their Slicks tires.

In the penultimate hour, Augusto Farfus surprised Maxime Martin to take the lead. The Brazilian was the first to cross the finish line in the LMGT3 category. Team WRT scored a magnificent one-two finish, with the n°31 winning ahead of the n°46. Manthey PureRxcing had to be content with third place. The #55 AF Corse Ferrari Vista and the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin rounded out the top 5.
