Imola will mark the second round of the 2024 World Endurance Championship, and the Balance of Performance governing the LMGT3 class was unveiled this Friday by the FIA / ACO tandem, at the same time as that of the Hypercar premier class.

In GT, it's clearly the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 that is most affected by the changes. While the British car will lose 12 kg (from 1318 to 1306 kg), it will also have to cope with 9 MJ less per stint (from 689 to 680). While it will also lose maximum power under 200 km/h, the Vantage will benefit from a 2% increase in power after 200 km/h.

The Ferrari 296 GT3, Ford Mustang GT3, McLaren 720S GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 R all gain weight : 8, 3, 1 and 2 kg respectively. The heaviest car on the grid in Qatar, the Lexus RC F GT3 benefits from no weight reduction, but can count on the biggest increase in MJ available per stint (+5 MJ, from 698 to 703).

The Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 is the only car to have its rear wing angle modified (from 6 to 8°). The Italian, like the Lexus, will also gain maximum power under 200 km/h.

All LMGT3s, with the exception of the Ford Mustang GT3, can count on an increase in power above 200 km/h (1 to 2% depending on the case). All the changes can be found below.

For this second round, the Success Ballast will also come into play. The #92 Porsche 911 GT3 R - Manthey Pure Rxcing, winner at Losail in Qatar, will take on the 15 kg from its victory and a further 15 kg from its championship lead, making it the heaviest car on the grid for this event (1347 kg). The two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s - The Heart of Racing and D'station - will be 20 and 10 kg heavier, respectively, offsetting the 12 kg loss implemented by BoP for Imola.
