On March 2, in Qatar, Sheldon van der Linde contested his first World Endurance Championship race. Entering the #20 BMW M Hybrid V8 alongside Robin Frijns and René Rast, the South African finished in the top 10 (after the disqualifications of the #93 Porsche 9X8 and the #2 Cadillac V-Series.R).
