Iron Lynx announces Caldarelli and Jefferies to complete ELMS line-up
Andrea Caldarelli and new driver Axcil Jefferies will join Hiroshi Hamaguchi in Iron Lynx’s #63 Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 Evo 2, completing the team’s European Le Mans Series line-up.
Axcil is vastly experienced in sportscar racing and has raced in the discipline since 2017 after a single-seater career across Europe, the Pacific and the United States.
The double Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East champion has been racing in many championships over the last few years, including briefly in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2023, but is yet to race in ELMS.
He will be joined by Andrea, who adds a second GT3 programme to his 2024 schedule with his confirmed campaign in GT World Challenge Europe as well as his efforts in the Lamborghini SC63 LMDh in IMSA.
The pair will join Hiroshi who steps up from the Michelin Le Mans Cup, where he was a race winner in the season finale at Portimão.
Today’s announcement completes Iron Lynx’s ELMS line-up, with the team also running an LMP2 in collaboration with Proton Competition.
The 2024 season comprises six rounds and features a pair of Italian races with the return of the 4 Hours of Imola and a new race, the 4 Hours of Mugello.
Andrea Piccini, Iron Lynx Team Principal and CEO, said: "It is great to finally be able to announce our complete European Le Mans Series line-up, uniting with Hiroshi. We all know the qualities Andrea brings to the table, and he is an enormous asset to have on any team. It is also great to welcome Axcil to the Iron Lynx family. He is a strong driver in any GT3 he steps into, and everybody looks forward to working closely with him. This is the ideal pairing to have working with Hiroshi who has been hard at work preparing for this coming season."
