Luca Engstler to join GRT for 2024 DTM season
Attack with the Italian bull. Luca Engstler will be chasing points for the Lamborghini Liqui Moly team in the upcoming DTM season. Born in Wiggensbach, he will drive a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 and complete the Grasser Racing Team line-up alongside the already confirmed Lamborghini works driver Christian Engelhart (Starnberg). The 23-year-old Engstler will start his second season in the DTM at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from April 26th to 28th.
"I'm super happy to be back in the DTM this year and with a team like GRT. We have a top package and I can fully focus on exploiting this potential on the race track next season," says Engstler, who is switching from rival Audi to Lamborghini. As a Lamborghini Young Driver, the man from the Allgäu region will now be part of the junior squad of the sports car manufacturer from Sant'Agata Bolognese. Engstler previously competed in various ADAC racing series, making the leap to the DTM via ADAC Formula 4, ADAC TCR Germany (including winning the 2021 title) and the ADAC GT Masters. In GT3 racing, the colors of his partner Liqui Moly have become the trademark of his vehicle liveries in recent years.
Gottfried Grasser, Team Principal of Grasser Racing Team, is delighted with his new line-up: "Luca is one of the most promising talents in GT3 racing. Christian and he will push each other to the maximum and benefit from each other."
