Adelaide Motorsport Festival - Bottas to drive Brabham BT62 in Invitational category
Finnish Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas will drive the Adelaide-built Brabham BT62 high-performance sportscar at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival on Sunday 17 March.
In addition to driving an ex-Larry Perkins/Denny Hulme Holden VK Commodore Group A touring car in the Heritage Touring Cars category, Bottas will drive the BT62 alongside the likes of the Mazda 767B sportscar in the Invitational category.
The BT62 is powered by a mid-mounted 5.4-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine, producing over 700 horsepower at 7200RPM. Only a handful of BT62s were made under the Brabham Automotive banner in Adelaide between 2018 and 2024. The BT62 broke lap records across Australia and has been raced in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
It means Bottas will drive two cars that originate from Adelaide in his appearance at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, celebrating his connections to South Australia at the event.
Categories featuring Formula 1, V8 Supercars, Group C and A touring cars, sportscars and more will feature over the course of the Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, in addition to on-track demonstrations, off-track displays, villas and more.
