A new role for Pascal Vasselon at Toyota Gazoo Racing

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has strengthened its strategic outlook for circuit racing as part of a commitment to making ever-better motorsport-bred cars and developing a sustainable motorsport industry.

The high-speed world of motorsport is a unique arena to develop and assess new environmental technologies quickly, and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing is a fundamental contributor to Toyota’s ambitions for a carbon-neutral mobility society with a multi pathway approach.

In parallel to those efforts to develop technology and human resources via success in competition, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has a long-term vision for a more sustainable motorsport industry, which is now strengthened by a strategic new role encompassing global motorsport for Pascal Vasselon.

Pascal will utilise his vast motorsport and engineering experience to contribute to TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s circuit racing strategy, working closely with Masaya Kaji, General Manager of the BR GT Business Department at GAZOO Racing Company.

Pascal’s new mission as Vice President TGR Strategic Motorsport Development begins immediately and sees him contribute to the planning and development of future global motorsport activities, with a focus on carbon neutrality and hydrogen technology. Within that strategic role, he will lead TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s representation to the relevant governing bodies around the world.

Consequently, and in line with its ongoing process to develop the next generation of company leaders, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe (TGR-E) has appointed David Floury as its new Technical Director, a role he has fulfilled in on acting basis since early January, succeeding Pascal in that position.

TGR-E is the operational home of the WEC project and GT4 customer motorsports in Europe and part of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s global challenge for a sustainable motorsport industry, via hydrogen solutions, the use of renewable biofuels and synthetic e-fuels within works and customer motorsport, as well as its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality at its technical centre in Cologne, Germany.
