With only 15 LMP2 cars taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the selection committee has a difficult task ahead of it. But Algarve Pro Racing principal Stewart Cox has just removed a thorn in their side, by announcing that his team will only use two of the three tickets it has won, namely those won in IMSA thanks to the Jim Trueman Award which went to George Kurtz, and the one it owes to its ELMS title.

This information was revealed by our DailySportsCar colleagues and confirmed by Stewart Cox.

It's a decision that honours Stewart Cox and his team, whose know-how and, even more so, state of mind are given far too little prominence. Once again, places are at a premium this year in a category which, as a reminder, is no longer accepted in the World Endurance Championship.
