Iron Lynx has completed its first ever LMP2 line-up with a pair of debutants to the category, as the team looks ahead to the upcoming European Le Mans Series season.

The team will run in two highly-anticipated categories throughout the six-round season. In a joint entry with Proton Competition, Iron Lynx will make the step into LMP2, while also competing with a Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 Evo 2 in the new LMGT3 class. Jonas Ried and Hiroshi Hamaguchi were previously announced as the first drivers in each car. Joining Jonas, for his foray into the LMP2 category, will be Matteo Cairoli. The Lamborghini factory driver has finished in the top three of the ELMS standings four times in LMGTE, most recently during 2023 with Iron Lynx, and has three years of racing experience with Proton under his belt.

Completing the #9 trio is Macéo Capietto, who is set for his sportscar debut. The promising French youngster has raced in Formula 4 and Formula Regional in his short career to date. In his first season in cars in 2021, he challenged for the French F4 title. Over the last two seasons, he has raced in the highly competitive Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.   The team’s other LMGT3 drivers will be announced in due course. The 2024 ELMS season comprises six four-hour events including a new round at Mugello in addition to rounds at Barcelona, Le Castellet, Imola, Spa-Francorchamps and Portimão.

Andrea Piccini, Iron Lynx Team Principal and CEO, said: "We are very excited to welcome Macéo to the team. He is a very talented driver, and he is the perfect fit for our family. Despite being young, he has already proven himself in the junior single-seater ranks and showed his speed and skills testing with our GT3 during the winter. Completing our dynamic line-up is Matteo, who I am personally pleased to see given additional track time in prototypes in 2024 to gain valuable experience also for the LMDh programme. The two additions along with Jonas is set to form a strong line-up in ELMS this year.    We have a fantastic and successful relationship with Proton Competition and I am looking forward greatly to continue it into 2024 and to do so with an LMP2 is a very exciting opportunity for all of us."
